As I said before, Mr. D and I took a trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. It was such a great time... we were able to be a part of a party like no other... all thanks to our great hosts who have called NOLA home for 20 years. The locals Mardi Gras is the way do do it if you are going to visit. And now I'll just the the madness speak for itself (with a little narration, I may need to explain myself at times!).

This house was incredible. It is located in the heart of the French Quarter near all the action on Bourbon Street (if that is your cup of tea) and so close to everything else. This place was furnished with all sorts of antique-y goodies that I thought made the house very charming. Our part of the house was two bedrooms with one bathroom and a kitchen. There was also this beautiful courtyard out back, which we were not around enough to use but still so lovely! There is another living space attached and the guest quarters out back. Truly a great find by our hosts! You can find more images of this lovely rental here. As I do after most vacations I came home and searched realtor.com for French Quarter properties and quickly found that we would not be purchasing a home in that neighborhood... I guess with all that history come dollar signs!
